Dr Rozina S. Ali M.D. FRCS (Plast) MB BS, BSc (1st Class Hons)

Dr Rozina Ali is an internationally trained and highly experienced consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon, with a specialist interest in all aspects of breast reconstruction and facial and breast aesthetics

She graduated from St Thomas' Hospital Medical School, University of London with First class Anatomy BSc honours. 

Rozina’s research interests include a 3 month elective in Venezuela studying the effects of leprosy and  a Doctorate at the Centre for Cutaneous Research, researching innate immune peptides known as Human Beta Defensins. Rozina has been presenting and publishing in the scientific literature since 1991, when she won the Great Britain and Ireland Anatomical Society Undergraduate prize.

Since then she has written numerous paper on microvascular surgery and breast reconstruction and contributed to some of the most respected texts in Plastic surgery including Grabb’s Encyclopedia of Flaps, Scott Spear’s ‘Surgery of the Breast:  Principles and Art’  and the inaugural Perforator flaps books (Blondeel et al). Her publications have been cited hundreds of times and she has been invited Keynote speaker at National and International meetings from Singapore to Mexico.

Rozina completed postgraduate surgical training in Yorkshire and London and at specialist units such as Great Ormond Street and the St Andrews Burns Unit (Billericay and Chelmsford). 

Rozina attended the inaugural meeting of the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery in Taiwan in 2001. Since that time, she has pursued an interest in microvascular breast reconstruction and perforator flap surgery with additional training and fellowships in microsurgery and breast reconstruction. She has honed her interests in breast aesthetics and facial aesthetic surgery with several advanced aesthetics fellowship in France, Italy and Brazil including with her friend and mentor the late great Professor Ivo Pitanguy.

Rozina practiced in the NHS for 25 years with 10 years as a consultant breast reconstruction specialist. Alongside this she has developed a nuanced and sophisticated facial aesthetics practice in the private sector alongside a pioneering practice in breast reconstruction and breast aesthetics. Her facial practice combines the best of surgical innovations, non-surgical technologies and therapeutic skincare to serve the needs of her increasingly discerning client base.

Straddling her reconstructive and aesthetic practice is Rozina’s pioneering use of fat transfer and the use of concentrated stem cells (stromal vascular fraction or SVF) to volumise and regenerate tissues She has developed and popularised the concept of regenerative aesthetics.

Rozina is a multi-award winning surgeon, notable highlights include the prestigious Kroll scholarship to study microvascular breast reconstruction in Belgium, the only Briton to have ever won this global award;  a Craniofacial scholarship at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children and a year long International Microsurgery Fellowship at the world-renowned Chang Gung memorial hospital (CGMH) in Taiwan. Other accolades include the Cutler's Surgical Fellowship and a British Association of Plastic Surgeons European scholarship.

Rozina has become one of the most high profile plastic surgeons in the UK after presenting the BBC2 Horizon documentary ‘The Truth about Looking Younger’ and Channel 4’s prime time TV series ‘How not to get old’. She is an innovative and thoughtful speaker and shared her philosophy of aesthetic improvement and the power of change in her TEDx talk.

In 2017 Rozina was profiled in the Centenary issue of Medical Woman as one of the UK’s top 100 female doctors who have changed the British medical landscape. She has won numerous healthcare awards including the Muslim Power 100  Healthcare Excellence Award, the Private Healthcare awards ‘Best Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgeon- London, 2019’ and awarded London’s leading Aesthetic Surgeon 2020 and 2024 at the GHP Global Excellence awards and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist of the Year 2022/2023 and Aesthetic Surgeon of the Year 2024 by Corporate LiveWire Global Awards.
